The art book of コクリコ坂から or also known as From Up On Poppy Hill leads to a colorful and lively scene that only the minds behind Studio Ghibli can potentially transmit, starting with the art that was used for the film has whole school with which has been working Ghibli and although it is a beautiful film in terms of art direction and handmade scenarios leaves me wanting to see more of all the scenarios that one can appreciate it. Well those are my thoughts on the film to create gems like Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Princess Mononoke, give me high expectations for his next film but talking more in detail the art book is simply brilliant with handmade paintings, scenarios in watercolor and characters with the same bright colors and colorful that only few artists can come to pass, from the first moment that begins the film we see how the art is fused with the animation and give us a cool, lively, happy and especially tangible scene.

The technical specifications for the art book is: has 254 pages (most in color), the language of the book is in Japanese and has a sliding cover. The division of the chapters is represented by introduction, pre-production ( scenarios, characters, culture), production (photography, editing, animation), interviews with authors and ending with the narrative of the movie script with sequential scenes in black and white throughout the movie. I have to say, is one of the most illustrative art books of which I had the pleasure to read and see, starting with art in watercolor Ghibli films always has fascinated me, this art that has the seal of Ghibli. Like previous releases of the study, what comes to be the music department of the movie is performed by Joe Hisaishi which gives us quite melancholic melodies and peaceful as it is what you want to portray in the movie scenes. The peculiarity in the book is that there is a whole section on this heading and it seems interesting to be placed in the book because it gives us a greater context of the scenes, the music is good as one could expect from the study but there are 2 tunes peculiarly that among all the movie are the biggest thrill I got to hear them, and to not to remain with the desire to hear them and I will put in the post, so Enjoy them like I did.

The first is the theme that started the movie 夜明け 朝 ごはん の 歌 ~ (映 ... ン) and here is the whole theme with vocals: Esukeepu

The second melody is the main theme of the movie: Sayonara no Natsu ~ Kokurikozaka kara ~

I noted earlier that the illustrations are in watercolor and in that sense I can say that this book does not disappoint in that section, almost all the sections are filled with sketches and watercolor painting for the previous sketching, at the beginning of the book there are photographs to the stage that give life to the movie and then reaches the staging section or scenarios which are the best of the the book, why I say this? although it is interesting to know the characters, preliminary sketches of them, etc., which gives the hallmark and almost intangible seal of Studio Ghibli are the fantastic scenarios that are able to recreate with handmade paintings, animation actually merges so well with the art scene that the characters seem to be part of the painting and not an element that is above it.What I'm getting at is that the scenarios are more alive and impose much in the films and the criterion which i analyzed is because of the cover art of this art book and many others like My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke to name a few.

I leave you with the following gallery of the art book to appreciate a little more the content of it, and not just to imagine what I write but rather it's more clearly with images.
